The IRS released 2017 inflation-adjusted annual amounts for Health Savings Accounts (HSA):

  • High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) coverage
    • Deductible (no less than):  $1,300 single / $2,600 family
    • Out-of-Pocket Maximum (no more than):  $6,550 single / $13,100 family
  • HSA Contribution Annual Limits:  $3,400 single / $6,750 family (based on HDHP enrollment)

With the exception of the contribution limit for individuals with single coverage, these amounts remain unchanged from 2016.  In addition to these limits, non-grandfathered HDHPs are subject to PPACA’s Out-of-Pocket Maximum rule which requires an embedded individual limit for family coverage.
