Thinking Forward

Jack’s Family Restaurants, Inc.  (originally known as Jack’s Hamburgers) first opened in 1960. Headquartered in Homewood, Alabama, and still locally owned and operated, Jack’s now serves up hamburgers, fried chicken, shakes, and more at 110 locations across the Southeast. Jack’s relies on Cobbs Allen as its broker for employee benefits, general liability and property casualty insurance.

“I have been working with Robert Berman and Pam Weldon, my go-to people at Cobbs Allen, for 18 years. We were just mere children when we started together. I’ve known some of my go-to people at Cobbs Allen for about 18 years—as long as I’ve been with at Jack’s. They’ve been our broker even longer than that, so I don’t have any experience working with others. We’ve never felt the need to look elsewhere, because if it’s not broken, why fix it? As individuals and as a team, the people at Cobbs Allen clearly strive for excellence in the service they provide, and they do a great job for us.

I have definitely witnessed their commitment to being a forward-thinking broker. On the benefits side, they recently hired a new compliance consultant whom we can call and have a one-on-one conversation anytime there is a question or concern, so I really appreciate having her. I can give you an example on the property casualty side as well—we actually switched our policy mid-year because they simply found us a better deal. That’s huge. Especially with the economy being the way it is, every penny counts, and so we really appreciate that they’re continuously thinking about us, where we are and how they can serve us better.
