As the “changing” insurance market cycle continues, we are aware that much of our clients’ greatest cost of risk lies with retained losses. A client’s greatest opportunity to stabilize and reduce “cost of risk” consists of their ability to prevent risk exposures through loss control efforts and to drive down claims costs with effective and aggressive claims management. With backgrounds as former claims adjustors and litigation specialists, our staff has the experience necessary to mitigate existing claims; assist with the establishment of internal process/ procedures; and benchmark the services provided by Third Party Administrators and insurance carriers with industry “best practices”.

Cobbs Allen provides claims management services in support of the programs we place. We have the experience and expertise to assist with specific issues associated with property and casualty insurance claims.  We provide the following services:

  • Identify issues which are driving costs (legal, claims admin, etc)
  • Develop action plans to mitigate claims frequency and costs
  • Review problem cases and significant open cases to develop a strategy to close out as many as possible
  • Establish communication lines and claims handling instructions from the time of accident to closing for claims administrators, brokers, and client personnel
  • Recognize strategic claim issues early in the life of a claim and choose appropriate action for immediate implementation
  • Prepare quarterly loss summaries
  • Analyze loss runs and review the appropriateness of reserve amounts with adjusters and managers as necessary
  • Customize claim handling instructions with carrier
  • Streamline adjustment process by monitoring claims
  • Specific defense counsel on litigated claims
  • Schedule and attend claim meetings and/or mediations 
  • Notification of settlement amounts
  • Notification of claims that are denied
  • Provide interim status reports
